A builder has been praised online after leaving the sweetest note for a customer’s six-year-old little boy.
The builder, who has not been named, was carrying out some work on teacher, Steph Heathcote’s patio, when he had some unexpected help from Steph’s six-year-old son Harry.
After doing a smashing job helping out, Steph received a note from her builder addressed to Harry.
She shared the note to Twitter alongside the caption: “We have just had our patio done and my 6yo has loved going out and helping the builder, so it made his day to receive this. What an example of kindness.”
The note, which was titled ‘Pay packet’, laid out all of the jobs that Harry completed whilst working alongside him from passing bricks, to taking pictures of creepy crawlies.
And at the end of the note it said that Harry had earned a solid £10 note for his hard work.
It read: “Harry. For passing bricks. Passing little pavers. Pointing brick work. Mixing cement. Loading stone. Taking pictures of black birds and spider.
“Saying why more times than I have ever heard anyone say why. And being a smashing little guy. Minus tax and national insurance – £10.”
Since being posted, the post received almost 195,000 likes and thousands of retweets and comments.
One person wrote: “A really nice gesture. I bet Harry loved the experience.”
Another wrote: “What a great bunch of builders making little mans day.”
It also caught the attention of television presenter Andi Peters who wrote: “Well done Harry. Plus, what a generous builder.”
This comes after a woman found an uplifting message in the strangest of places.
While we’ve seen our fair share of notes hidden beneath layers of wallpaper or taped to cars over the years, this one is a little more far-fetched.
A woman named Rebecca was doing her weekly food shop when she came across the note taped to a block of cheese.
The note read: “To whoever is reading this, you are doing great!”
Rebecca was keen to share it online, admitting it made her smile, but some Facebook users found it “cheesy”.
